The Davalois Fearon Dance Virtual Theater was DFD’s online platform for sharing new works and works-in-progress performances, which emerged in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, when live performances and in-person gatherings were no longer possible. Developed to sustain artistic exchange and community connection during a time of global disruption, the Virtual Theater served as a forum for commissioned new works by emerging choreographers, as well as a space to share the company’s social, educational, and cultural initiatives. The platform also hosted classes, workshops, and dialogue-driven programming, such as Time to Talk, a series featuring conversations with artists, activists, and scholars on race, justice, and equality, and archived the work of Davalois Fearon Dance.
While the DFD Virtual Theater is not currently active, please stay tuned for upcoming promotions and opportunities to access DFD’s work as part of the company’s 10-year anniversary!
